Junior Achievement of Greater Hampton Roads
Junior Achievement of Greater Hampton Roads (JAGHR) was established in the Hampton Roads area in 1966. Volunteers from the community deliver our curriculum throughout Hampton Road’s schools while sharing their experiences with students. These role models transform the key concepts of our lessons into a message that inspires and empowers students to believe in themselves, showing them they can make a difference in the world. During the 2013-2014 school year, JA of GHR reached over 12,000 students.
Junior Achievement (JA) empowers young people to own their economic success. Our volunteer-delivered, K-12 programs foster work-readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy skills, and use experiential learning to inspire kids to dream big and reach their potential.
Through an innovative partnership between the business community, educators and volunteers, Junior Achievement of Greater Hampton Roads helps young people connect with relevant learning and the importance of staying in school. JA inspires students to develop competitive skills and confidence. Their success bolsters the local workforce and contributes to economic growth.
