My partner Tom Machak, I started Specialty Coatings Inc. in December of 1989 in Norfolk. We began with just Tom, & myself doing all of the work, mainly painting for the first 2 years or so. After those first 2 years we had saved up enough money in the bank to feel comfortable in hiring our first employee, & off we went. We found our niche in the fire & water damage insurance re-construction industry, & also, the interior & exterior re-painting of residential, & commercial buildings, & painting of new construction commercial buildings. We have grown from a firm belief in
providing a high quality product, & making customer service our priority, another words, doing what we say we are going to do, when we say we are going to do it. Over the years, by doing this it has earned us one of the highest ratings a company can achieve from the Better Business Bureau.
